Nothing much to shout about…lost a few hookups. Fred also lost a suspected big red tail cat.

Hook up in mouth on shooting marker. New species added to my book.

Sorry guys, no pictures this time round. I had only a bite the entire whole fishing trip and I wasted it. I fought the tarpon and upon landing it, the hook came loose…. There went my 18 points… From 18 points to 0 points…

Went for a quick session with Fred again to FW3 before our trip to Pulau Semakau. Fred landed a small chao phraya catfish within minutes and soon after that engaged with a good size chao phraya. It tested his reel to its limits with ful lock drag…

I landed a big fat walking catfish which easily weigh more than 5kg…but no pictures were taken as the line snap while the fish handler bring in the fish… I asked Fred to join me for shooting marker and he obliged. He wore red color underwear this time round as he managed a big head carp upon his first shooting.

His red color underwear worked again by landing my LONG AWAITED sultan fish.

The surprise catch came on shooting marker with my fruity chicken feed mix. The barramundi was landed using the last portion of the mix. First time in my life encountering barramundi eating a fruity bait.

Sultan fish, where are you? Mix my potent bait for shooting marker yet again. Lots of actions with many misses. Lost a good size grassie during a halfway fight…Cursing and swearing to myself! Fred & Weijian have no luck in baiting. Before all of us packed for home, a consolation of pink tilapia came to check out my potent mix…

Hook in mouth with this careful eater.

Another grassie came along to nurse my wound of the previous lost grassie. Hook in mouth again. So lucky! =)

Reached FW3 at 2a.m with Fred and the weather was rather cooling. Proceed to mix my special bait for shooting marker. Not much actions at all with none of the angler landing any fishes. We proceeded to shoot marker but Fred gave up halfway as there was no action at all. Fishes were pulling way too gently.

Fred broke the silence with a good size Pacu with power bait that he bought.

At about 5a.m, my marker began to bob up and down twice. I decided to strike and the line was tight with a good sizzling run. When the fish was brought near, it was my long awaited Big Head Carp.

We fished till abt 7a.m with Fred landing a rare appearance of the snakehead and me with a baby redtail catfish.

Now the only fish left on my list for shooting marker is the Sultan Fish.

Third time doing it. Tried yam essence but failed. Tried pandan essence and failed again. Switched to banana flavour and bam! This was my fourth grass carp on shooting marker till now.

With positive results from the first time of shooting marker, I proceeded again to try it out with different proportion of the khng mix. I got 3 goal keepers in the early morning with a solid hookup from a small chao phraya. It gave my 4-8lb Majorcraft Slicer and 6lb line a good workout.

I was thinking out loud “Wow must be my lucky day!” However the hot afternoon was quiet. Decided to fly fish abit and got a burnt finger with a big blister caused by a big Pacu sizzling first run. It was too pain to continue fly fish so went back to shooting marker. I redo another pail of khng with double power! I was rewarded with 2 big grass carps at the end of the day! So far all my fishes landed are hooked in mouth. =D

Thanks for Stephen at FW3 taking the picture for me.
