2 hour luring at FW3

Was intended to do a full day fishing but was put off by the crowd when we reach the pond at 3 pm. Michelle and I was just lazing around looking at people fishing and relaxing. Bait fishing was extremely slow. Saw an uncle using flies with jighead and was amazed but the success hit rates. I decided to opt for a short 2 hour session and Michelle wanted to cast some lures too.

We had three misses on my self tied streamers and clousers and finally decided to cast rubber instead. Rain stopped by for awhile. When our time is almost up, I got a violent strike on Berkeley Gulp while doing a jig and drop technique. The fish sped off like a non stop train and was crossing the lines beside me. Took me a good 10 minutes to subside the fish. My rod almost broke while trying to stop it going to the pump. -_-

X’mas Quick Fix @ Lower Pierce Reservoir

After shopping for Alvin’s kids present, I decided to bring Michelle to lower pierce reservoir legal fishing ground for her cast practice. Upon reaching the reservoir, it was crowded with children, parents and many foreign Bangladesh workers.

Michelle proceeded with her casting while I was fishing just beside the floating pontoon. There were the usual bait anglers and families arm with pail and nets. I spotted a pair of mating peacock bass and it was pure luck as this place is almost dead. I managed to tease one of the peacock bass but the Abu Reflex spinner’s hook was thrown off when it made a jump out of the water. The bait angler beside me quickly changed to a fly tied to a floater and casted right infront of me. What a typical Singaporean. -_-”

I changed from lure to lure and finally managed to land the other one with a Keitech 4″ Live Impact rigged to a jighead. The bite was fast and hard.

It was a early release after a bowling session with my reservist unit at Safra Mt Faber. Went to have lunch with Michelle and got myself a new bag and a jig fly for my fishing. Rushed home to pack and off I went fishing. I was determined to break my dry spell.

I was casting at various spots of the waterhole, there was no sign of fishes and takes. My heart skipped a moment when a estimated 2kg+ peacock bass followed my Abu Garcia Reflex spinner but it turn out to be disappointment. I kept changing lures but to no success.

I move on to various spots and kept telling myself “ITS OK!!!” I called my boss to check on my bonus status and was chatting when a royal pavon peacock bass took the Abu Garcia Reflex spinner. I was fighting the fish while chatting with my boss. Have to bye bye her when the fish was ready for landing. Took some shot of the beautiful royal pavon peacock bass before it was released back safely.

For no reasons, Im running a dry spell consecutively for my last three to four fishing trips. Peacock bass and sebaraus did not like me for some reasons. They were mocking at me by showing me the golden egg.

Least Expected Catch on Lure

Had a quick whipping session at a waterhole with Michelle. No luck spotting my targeted fish and weather was very humid after the afternoon showers. While twitching my newly bought “STORM” Wildeye soft shad along the banks, the least expected fish took the lure. Ended the day with a newly bought owner spinner bait lost to the rocks!!!!
